This is the best engineered impact full suit for cold water big wave surfing on the market! I used it for two full days at mavericks for the first time. The engineering and detail that went into this lifesaving piece of equipment is truly admirable. With removable padding though out the suit I was able to choose the right set up for the day. I was paddling so I went for the 4cm pads on my butt and lower back and hind legs. 2cm pads on the side of my legs and ribs. I opted to leave out my chest pads to be able to press chest down into the board while paddling and upper shoulder pads as I was using my Patagonia inflation vest and didn’t want the pads to press into the back canisters causing unnecessary fatigue on my shoulders. The neoprene is the highest quality and I’ve been using isurus wetsuits previous to this point. I was not cold once in the water and we spent 6hrs out there both days trading off safety and surfing on the ski. It doesn’t leak! I didn’t chafe or feel restricted or have my suit get flushed once. I swam through some close out sets and got pulled back and worked under water to the point I inflated a canister. I really put it to the test. I only made one small hole on my left shoulder with a fin key and threaded the dump valve cord through it before reattaching the handle on the outside. There was no need to make additional holes for the inflation tabs as I just tucked those in and left the handles accessible to pull. I have compared it to the Patagonia, buell, Bewet, dove and custom moon suits my friends ride it out does them in every aspect. One can tell there has been a lot of R&D in this suit. It’s worth it!
